Asthma Friendly School
As a school, we recognise that asthma is a widespread, serious, but controllable condition. We are delighted that, thanks to the efforts and hard work of our team, we have been awarded the Asthma Friendly School status. We welcome all pupils with asthma and we aim to support these children in participating fully in school life. We endeavour to do this by ensuring we have:
- A register of all children and young people with asthma.
- An up to date asthma policy
- An asthma lead
- All pupils have immediate access to their inhalers at all times
- All pupils have an up-to-date asthma action plan
- A school emergency salbutamol inhaler
- All staff are regularly trained
- We promote asthma awareness to pupils, parents and staff
