Inclusion and SEND Curriculum

Our Vision at Holyport is to offer a curriculum driven through the lens of developing a love of learning and life and to achieve this to the fullest, as individual and collectively.

'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.' John 10.10b

Our vision is to provide all of our pupils with opportunities to excel, develop and flourish; we do this through offering high quality enriching experiences that in turn inform the quality of our creative curriculum and inform our school values.

We wish our children a life of abundanceabundance is an appreciation of life in its fullness so when they leave us,  they are responsible , caring and active citizens for the future.

Our vision statement: Rooted in our Christian Foundation everyone feels valued, respected and knows their contribution will be recognised. Through our broad and memorable education experiences, all pupils achieve their full potential and become enthusiastic learners for life. Our pupils are active, healthy, responsible citizens of the future.

As a school, we aim to ensure that all children are provided with high quality learning experiences based on a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. Holyport CE Primary School is committed to inclusion with policies and practices that include all learners.  We are dedicated to providing a personalised and high-quality education to all our children.  Diversity is valued as a rich resource and we believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs and disabilities, have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum which is accessible to them, and to be fully included in all aspects of school life.

Inclusion is an on-going process and involves the identification and minimising of the barriers to learning and participation that may be experienced by any child, irrespective of age, ability, gender, ethnicity, language or social background and the maximising of resources to reduce such barriers. We strive to avoid the isolation of children and encourage collaborative learning and peer tutoring. We provide learning opportunities that are absorbing, creative, rewarding and effectively differentiated with diverse teaching styles.

Every pupil with SEND and/or others who could be at risk of social exclusion, have an entitlement to fulfil his/her optimum potential. This is achieved by ensuring the wellbeing of all pupils in relation to: being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving social and economic well-being.  These outcomes are embraced in every aspect of school life through personalised teaching and learning approaches.

Support for emotional wellbeing is provided through ELSA support as well as flexible or individualised timetables and assessment for learning which engages pupils in reflecting on their progress.

Partnership with parents/carers, other schools, professional, the local community, health care and social service providers is embraced and sought.

Our Curriculum is creative and inclusive, children can access and engage with their peers irrespective of their needs.
