The intent of our English curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which:
1. Develops a love of learning with an enjoyment of language through a range of spoken, reading and writing opportunities and for children to demonstrate their creativity, inventiveness and imagination through English.
2. Develops a love of reading for pleasure and purpose and value language and literature from different countries and cultures.
3. Develops skills in the application of writing.

Read Write Inc
Read Write Inc. is a phonics scheme. Like all phonics schemes, it teaches children the sounds in English, the letters that represent them, and how to form the letters when writing. Read Write Inc. Phonics includes reading books written using only the letters they have learnt at each level (and a small number of separately taught tricky words). The children will quickly feel confident and successful.
