Year 1/2 – Inkpen & Rosen

Welcome to and welcome back to Key Stage 1

Inkpen - Mrs Harris

Rosen - Miss Benham

Supporting Adults: Mrs Allaway, Mrs Brown, Mrs Cole, Mrs Lomax, Mrs Thomas

It has been lovely to see everyone return to school. The children have been super at learning the new routines and we are still working on the transition within the current Government guidance, which does change what we would usually be able to do.

We are beginning an exciting term and a newsletter ( see below) is packed with information.  In the meantime, here are some useful points to note:

  • Seesaw will be the main method of communication - class notices, reminders, submitting homework etc.
  • Please ensure your child brings in their reading record on a Monday and ensure that it is signed. Please only send in reading books once they are completed.
  • Please ensure your child has a named water bottle and a rain coat. Pencil cases are not needed - we will provide everything your child needs.
  • PE kits are to be worn all day on PE days.
  • Spare trainers may be left in lockers for break and lunchtimes.

The home learning grid for the topic is posted below. Mathletics will be set for Maths homework in due course and remember to try TTR as well. We look forward to issuing lots of house points for any optional home learning that is completed.

Thank you!

Phonics Screening Check

Year 1 children will take the phonic's screening check in the Summer term. As the year 2 children did not have the opportunity to take the check last academic year, they will take it in the second part of the autumn term. If they do not meet the standard at this point they will have another opportunity in the Summer term.

Please see the video below to explain the check in more detail

We have provided a number of story planners.  Please choose the planner that suits your child's ability and way of working best.
RSE Scheme of Work
It is fantastic to see our Year 2 -5 children's faces again for their Face to Face time sessions. We look forward to continuing to support children at home, in school and at the face to face time sessions. Please keep safe and well during this time.
